At the completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Recognize the physiological process of dying
- Differentiate between hospice vs. palliative care
- Identify models of therapy practice in hospice and palliative care
- Recognize clinical issues-considerations for care
- Identify pain and symptom management
- Define palliative sedation
- Recognize advance directives: planning ahead for death with dignity
- Define aging and identify physical changes specific to the senior athlete
- Identify the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA)
- Identify sport-specific rehabilitation approaches for common senior sports
- Identify demographics of older adults with developmental disabilities
- Recognize the developmental disabilities service system
- Identify age-related health care issues specific to adults with developmental disabilities
- Recognize proper program planning techniques and implementation for the older adult with developmental disabilities
Criteria for Obtaining Continuing Education Credits:
