Course Goals and Objectives:
At the completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Recognize sensory changes and their relationship to functional ability within the environment
- Identify general principles of design
- Identify teaching/consulting strategies
- Identify the signs/symptoms of depression in older adults
- List management practices of depression in the older adult
- Differentiate between cognitive decline and dementia
- Define/understand mild cognitive impairment, delirium, and dementia
- Identify caregiver issues
- Recognize a thorough chart review of the acute and medically complex patient
- Identify a systems review of the acute and medically complex patient
- Recognize other relevant medical issues
- Identify preventative methods
