Course Goals and Objectives:

At the completion of this course, participants should be able to:

1.  Recognize the principles supporting advanced technology and rehabilitation robotics
2.  Identify characteristics of wearable assistive devices
3.  Differentiate between nonwearable assistive robotic devices for gait training
4.  Recognize trends from the research on effectivness of nonwearable body-weight-assisted gait systems
5.  Differentiate between gait training wearable assistive robotic devices for the lower limb
6.  Recognize the process of screening patients for integrating advanced technology or rehabilitation robotics
7.  Identify impairments that interefere with unweighted gait training
8.  Recognize learning-based criteria for computer-assisted gaming for learning at home
9.  Recognize ways that technologies can assist patient exercise performance
10. Identify engineering principles in rehabilitation robotics
11. Recognize common terms for human-robot interactions, interfaces and devices
12. Identify possible questions to ask to determine cost-effectiveness of rehabilitation robotics and advanced technology

Criteria for Obtaining Continuing Education Credits:
