Course Goals and Objectives:

At the completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  1. Recognize the applied anatomy of the elbow
  2. Identify the possible outcomes of valgus overload to the elbow
  3. Identify the muscles of the elbow: actions/nerve supply/nerve root derivation
  4. Differentiate between nerve injuries of the elbow
  5. Recognize normal elbow degrees of motion vs functional elbow degrees of motion
  6. Differentiate between key tests performed at the elbow joint
  7. Recognize the pain referral pattern of elbow muscles
  8. Identify where to palpate specific elbow structures
  9. Differentiate between Ulnar Neuritis and Medial Epicondylitis
  10. Recognize the applied anatomy of the forearm, wrist and hand
  11. Identify the distal transverse arch
  12. Differentiate between common hand and finger deformities
  13. Recognize different nail pathologies
  14. Differentiate between pathological hand conditions
  15. Differentiate between key tests performed at the forearm, wrist, and hand
  16. Recognize which artery provides the major blood supply to the hand based on special tests
  17. Recognize the pain referral pattern of the forearm, wrist, and hand muscles
  18. Recognize Kaltenborn's technique
  19. Identify skin flexion creases
  20. Differentiate between Wrist Cartilaginous Disc and Degenerative Osteoarthritis 

Criteria for Obtaining Continuing Education Credits:

A score of 70% or greater on the post-test
