Course Goals and Objectives:

At the completion of this course, participants should be able to:

1. Identify the reasons for patellar instability
2. Recognize which meniscus is most commonly injured and why
3. Differentiate between classifications of Chondromalacia
4. Recognize the advantages of weight-bearing exercises for patients with patellofemoral pain
5. Identify and describe the McMurray, Apley, and Thessaly tests
6. Recognize the clinical examination for ACL injury
7. Differentiate between a posterior cruciate substitution and a posterior cruciate retaining knee replacement
8. Identify complications associated with total knee arthroplasty
9. Identify the indications for surgery with patellar dislocations
10. Differentiate between the nerve entrapments in the lower extremity (Lateral cutaneous, Femoral nerve, Obturator nerve, Saphenous nerve, Piriformis syndrome, Common fibular, Fibular neuopathy, Ski boot syndrome, Tarsal tunnel and Sural nerve compression)
