According to recent studies, approximately 81% of women and 43% of men reported experiencing some form of sexual harassment and/or assault in their lifetime.  This course was designed to educate Healthcare professionals on what constitutes sexual harassment and how to report it.  It covers

*Types of inappropriate conduct
*What to do if I experience or witness unwelcome sexual contact
*Reporting sexual harassment internally and externally
*Whistleblower protection

Course Goals and Objectives:

At the completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  1. Recognize the definition of sexual harassment from different government organizations
  2. Differentiate between the types and forms of sexual harassment
  3. Recognize the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s types and examples of sexual harassment
  4. Identify the ways that sexual harassment can affect the victim
  5. Identify a “hostile work environment” and why it is also considered sexual harassment
  6. Recognize types of inappropriate conduct
  7. Identify ways to report sexual harassment within the workplace and beyond
  8. Recognize why “whistleblower protection” is important for a safe work environment
  9. Identify appropriate government agencies that can help with sexual harassment complaints
  10. Recognize why strong sexual harassment policies are important in the workplace

Criteria for Obtaining Continuing Education Credits:

A score of 70% or greater on the post-test.
