Course Goals and Objectives:
At the completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Identify knee joint anatomy
- Recognize the biomechanical forces that act on the knee and potential for degeneration
- Identify common problems /injuries of the knee joint
- Differentiate between the role that each muscular component surrounding the knee plays
- Recognize the unique role of the menisci and how to treat/rehabilitate common injuries
- Differentiate between types of special tests for the menisci/patellofemoral joint/ACL/ITB
- Recognize common signs/symptoms of patellofemoral injuries
- Differentiate between traumatic mechanisms of injury for the ACL
- Recognize the clinical examination findings for ITB injuries
- Identify the Return to Activity treatment and protocols
Criteria for Obtaining Continuing Education Credits:
A score of 70% or greater on the post-test
