Course Goals and Objectives:

At the completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify the proper management of body composition
  2. Recognize common dieting practices
  3. Identify factors in determining a healthy weight
  4. Describe factors of an athlete's energy and nutrient needs
  5. Recognize the carbohydrates role in providing calorie need
  6. Identify the main energy sources for active muscle
  7. Identify proteins role in providing energy
  8. Recognize situations that would require extra protein consumption
  9. Recognize that a deficit of fat can cause performance issues in athletes
  10. Identify the role of fats in a healthy body

Criteria for Obtaining Continuing Education Credits:

A score of 70% or greater on the post-test
